Home > Faculty & Staff Resources > Retirement Housing

A number of universities across the country have developed retirement communities on their campuses. The University of Michigan does not own or operate any such facility.

However, there is a private residential community, University Commons, near the North Campus in Ann Arbor, which was specifically designed for older UM faculty, staff, alumni and surviving spouses.University Commons is a uniquely rich and uncommonly imaginative place and way to live. The community was conceived, designed and built for University of Michigan alumni, faculty, staff and surviving spouses, age 55 years and older.
