Monthly Safety Checks

Have you thought about going through your unit every month to check to make sure that the smoke detector(s) works?

Fire safety measures in your units:

Do you have smoke detectors in all of the sleeping rooms?

Are there smoke detectors in common areas?

Is there a fire alarm system? If yes, does it receive regular inspections? Is it monitored?

Is there a sprinkler system? If yes, does it receive regular inspections? Is it monitored?

Are there fire extinguishers in each unit and in common areas?

Is there evacuation signage in each unit and in common areas?

Is there an evacuation plan that is posted and conveyed to all residents?

Is there an identified area of refuge for inclement weather that is posted and conveyed to all residents?

Is there a hazardous/combustible storage containment shed that is accessible to all residents of your unit?
